On June 7 in 2004 a professional pension company incorporated by Taiping Life, Taiping Pension Co., Ltd., with formal approval of the China Insurance Regulatory Committee (CIRC), was established the first pension company in China.

In August 2004, Taiping Pension (which then was prepared to be an independent company) and Taiping Life, on recommendation of the CIRC, obtained approval through the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of China as well as other relevant departments to participate in the occupational annuity experiment conducted in Liaoning province ¨C as the first and only experimental unit in the insurance industry.

On December 20 in 2004, Taiping Pension Co., Ltd., headquartered in Shanghai, was formally authorized to start business, becoming one of the first professional pension companies in China.

On August 2, 2005 Taiping Pension Co., Ltd. obtained the qualifications of a Corporate Trustee Institution For Occupational Annuity Funds and an Investment Manager For Occupational Annuity Funds from the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security. Thus Taiping becomes one of the first occupational annuity fund management institutions in China, having devoted itself to providing the best professional EA services for our customers.

On October 31, 2005, Taiping Pension Co., Ltd. signed the first trustee management contract for an EA fund.

On November 14, 2006, the kick-off meeting and the signing ceremony of the ¡°Taiping - ICBC Zhixin Entrusted Management Contract on an Enterprise Annuity Fund¡± jointly developed by Taiping Pension Co., Ltd. and the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China Co., Ltd. (ICBC) were held in the Yinyuan Mansion in Hangzhou, Zhejiang. This meeting indicates the formal establishment of a strategic and cooperative partnership between the ICBC and Taiping Pension.

On January 31, 2007 the award ceremony of ¡°Accomplishing the Development and Improving Competitiveness of National Brands - the 2006 Annual Conference of the Third Summit of the Ten Most Influential Brands in China¡± was ceremoniously held in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. Taiping Pension Co., Ltd. was elected one of the ¡°Ten Most Influential Customer Service Brands in the Chinese Insurance Industry in 2006¡±, and Chairman He Zhiguang was awarded ¡°Outstanding Entrepreneur of Branding in China¡±.

On May 9, 2007, Taiping Pension Co., Ltd. signed the 500th trustee management contract for an EA fund.

On May 17, 2007, Taiping Pension Co., Ltd. increased its registered capital to 500 million RMB with approval of the CIRC.
